Hello & Welcome!
I'm Carina, a trainee weaning consultant, and I've created a safe space for parents who want to learn about all things related to weaning. Non-judgmental, neutral, and without a one-size-fits-all approach. Based on the latest scientific findings and facts.
Are you ready to start introducing solid foods, or have you already done so? I'll help you navigate this milestone without stress or pressure. We'll work together as a team, respectfully and on equal terms, with empathy and understanding, as a team with your child.
Ready for solids – now what? Eating is a completely natural way to nourish your baby, but it's something they need to learn, as they've only known milk feeds until now. I'm not aiming to replace milk feeds – that's never the goal of my advice! Introducing solid foods is a process, and I'll be there to support you and your child.
It is important to me to always consider you and your family individually, what suits you and how you enable your child to discover food with joy from the very beginning - without pressure and fixed guidelines.
Together we'll find the perfect individual weaning approach for your family, tailored to your specific needs and circumstances. Whether it's a structured approach, purees, or feeding on demand.
I will help you as a family to understand and implement these approaches.
It is important to prioritize the child's competence while not neglecting scientific principles.
This special time should be fun – for your child and for you as a family. That's why it's very helpful to prepare for it, but even if you've already started introducing solids and are feeling uncertain, you can of course resolve these through targeted advice. That's what I'm here for!
Possible topics for a complementary feeding consultation:
-Starting complementary feeding: When is the right time to start complementary feeding?
- Recognize and understand the signs of readiness for complementary feeding
- Concepts of complementary feeding: purees, baby-led weaning, advantages/disadvantages, understanding and implementing the concept
-Complementary feeding on demand: The relaxed way for you as a family
- Safety aspects: Suitable/unsuitable foods
- Safety rules when introducing complementary foods
- Swallowing vs. Gagging
- Respectful and responsible introduction of complementary foods
Doubts and fears: Should I offer highly allergenic foods? Is the child eating enough? Is the child eating too much? How to handle sugar, etc.
- Breastfeeding and complementary feeding: When should breastfeeding resume when complementary feeding is introduced? When are milk feedings replaced?
- Open Q&A session: All questions and concerns will be addressed.
- Any questions regarding complementary feeding are welcome here!
This is just a small excerpt from questions and information. If your topic regarding complementary feeding isn't included, it's simply because the list of topics is endless and only serves as a general overview.
After the conversation, you will receive a handout with all the important information we discussed, including sources and recipe suggestions, if desired! The handout will be sent promptly.
Does all of this appeal to you, and would you like a flexible online consultation in a pleasant atmosphere? Then book an appointment with me! Optional Can you book a weaning workshop?
No matter what you decide, it remains your safe space, for you and your child. Non-judgmental and neutral.
I look forward to hearing from you.
