SimplyParents® Sibling Course

Treffpunkt Freizeit, 64, Am Neuen Garten, Nauener Vorstadt, Potsdam, Brandenburg, 14469, Germany

For expectant siblings between 3 and 8 years old and their parents - recommended from about the 30th week of pregnancy (when the belly is clearly visible)
This course consists of: a 60-minute children's session with accompanying person (the child receives, among other things, a sibling certificate), a 90-minute separate information session for the parents (online), and an optional meeting after the birth for a joint exchange.

The birth of another baby changes the family dynamic once again.
The arrival of a newborn isn't always a cause for joy for the older child. Instead, they suddenly have to share all the love at once – or at least that's how it feels at first.

Even for us parents, it's not always as easy as we might hope. The love that's supposed to double with multiple children might actually feel halved.

The sibling course from Einfach Eltern® aims to provide assistance, using the latest findings from attachment, development and brain research, to help parents navigate the turbulent everyday life in a loving and informed manner.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The course fee covers one participating sibling accompanied by a caregiver. If both parents wish to attend the children's session, this is possible by prior arrangement.
Both parents can of course attend the parents' evening and the meeting "afterwards".

If more than one sibling would like to participate in the course, please book an additional place using the code "SIBLES" - this way you will pay EUR 25 for each additional participating sibling.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sibling course consists of the following dates.

The first appointment takes place on-site* together with the children and a companion. Here, the soon-to-be "big" sisters and brothers are lovingly and playfully prepared for the time with the new, little family member.
During this quality time with mom or dad, or maybe grandma or grandpa, in addition to age-appropriate information about everyday life with the baby, there will also be singing and crafts for the unborn child.

We discuss questions such as:
What can the baby in its mother's tummy already do?
What can it do when it is born, and what can't it do yet?
What does a baby need and why does it cry (so much)?
What can I play with my sibling already, and what should I wait until they are older?
How can I help mom or dad with caring for the baby, e.g. with changing diapers?
and much more...

Using dolls the size of a newborn, the participating children will learn how to put on a small cloth diaper and find out why they would like to help later on, but cannot change diapers themselves.
At the end, your child receives a personalized sibling certificate with their own name and takes home their own handmade wooden teething ring to play with the baby.

If the older child is too young or too old for the children's part, you can also book the parent of the sibling course (parents' evening online) separately.

*The children's part of the sibling course takes place at different locations:
Family center Clab in Stahnsdorf
Philantow in Teltow
Leisure meeting point in Potsdam
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At the second meeting, you will also receive all the important information about the arrival of the new family member and its significance for the older sibling. You will get exciting information and helpful tips for a relaxed start to your new family life.
The parents' evening takes place online, usually in the evening, without the children present. The focus is on exchanging information and discussing the upcoming changes.
How can I best support my older child?
How can I prepare to support my child through the potential emotional turmoil?
How do I deal with my own emotional turmoil?
What awaits us?
Correctly interpreting the older child's signals/ heeding cries for help
How bonding develops
To forge and strengthen the bond between siblings
Exclusive time slots for everyone – what could these look like?
When are children actually able to develop understanding?
How will everyone sleep from now on?
Tips and tricks for breastfeeding and diaper changing

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- OPTIONAL -

After the babies are born, there is the possibility of meeting again if desired. We will arrange the exact date together.

After learning a lot of theory about the period after your baby's arrival at the online parents' evening, we'd like to get together again to share how things are actually going for you and what challenges or questions you're currently facing in your daily lives. This meeting will give you the opportunity to gather some valuable tips for your everyday routine and strengthen your connections with other parents.
The meeting will take place on site and babies are of course welcome to attend.

If you are interested in this third appointment, please indicate this when booking.

I'm Tanja and a mother of two beloved children (born in 2013 and 2016). I live with my husband and children in Stahnsdorf (just outside Berlin and right next to Potsdam).
I work in accounting, but after the birth of my first child I very quickly realized that my heart was calling for completely different things.
My son was a very demanding baby, and I often felt helpless and insecure. I started reading many books and acquiring a great deal of knowledge. Over time, I came to understand that my son was a very "normal" baby, but that society's expectations and perceptions often convey a completely different image of children and babies, which makes many parents feel insecure.
At the same time, I repeatedly noticed that the solutions and tips from the books often didn't work for us. Today I know why. Every child is different, and there simply isn't a one-size-fits-all solution.
When I came across the principles of attachment parenting, I realized that this was exactly the path I wanted to take with my children and my partner. A path without one-size-fits-all solutions, but one where individual solutions are found and each child is seen and valued. Through the relationship, every situation with the child can be resolved – in a completely individual way. Over the past few years, this has fostered a deep, heartfelt connection with my children, my partner, and myself, a connection that continues to grow and simply feels wonderful.

And I want to have exactly this kind of relationship and connection in my professional environment as well. That's why I completed my training as a Babysteps course instructor in 2019.
But that's not all. I am constantly learning and developing my skills.

as well as
Individual consultations.

I also offer individual consultations and exchange groups (online & offline) for mothers with children over 1 year old.

My coaching is for all mothers who long for a more relaxed family life with more ease, joy, and energy. For those who feel stuck in a hamster wheel, just going through the motions. For those who often feel stressed and drained. For those who repeatedly find themselves in the same conflict situations and don't know how to break free. For mothers who want to fully enjoy motherhood again.

I conduct my consultations, workshops and coaching sessions both on-site and online.
