In this workshop, you'll learn the basics of oriental belly dance, have fun with other pregnant women, and develop a positive body awareness. Belly dance is an extremely healthy form of movement that has a beneficial effect on you and your body. The gentle swaying of your belly and hip circles helps to engage your baby in your pelvis, releasing endorphins and other feel-good hormones. Belly dance also strengthens the muscles needed for childbirth. It can even alleviate back pain during pregnancy. On a mental level, belly dance also has positive effects. Through dancing, you gain confidence in your own body, which you can draw upon and benefit from during labor.
