MiniSigns® Baby Sign Language Course

Am Neuen Garten 64, 14469 Potsdam, Germany

MiniSigns® is an attachment-oriented course for parents with their babies and toddlers between 8 and 18 months old. The little ones are entertained with lots of fun, games, songs, and music, while the parents learn practical sign language and receive suggestions for integrating it into their daily lives at home.

Baby sign language promotes children's self-efficacy, as it allows them to communicate more effectively and be better understood. Conscious (eye) contact with the child increases adults' attention and demonstrably improves the quality of the bond.

While we entertain your children with songs and finger games, you'll learn practical sign language. I'll also give you tips on how to integrate these signs into your daily routine and share everything you need to know about your child's cognitive and emotional development. Sign language can be a wonderful way to support your child's developmental milestones.
Each week we deal with a new topic, e.g. self-efficacy and food, feelings or settling in / external care.

What you can expect in the course:

Signs from German Sign Language

Sign language related to the topics: playing, in nature, self-efficacy, external care, feelings

I'm Tanja and a mother of two beloved children (born in 2013 and 2016). I live with my husband and children in Stahnsdorf (just outside Berlin and right next to Potsdam).
I work in accounting, but after the birth of my first child I very quickly realized that my heart was calling for completely different things.
My son was a very demanding baby, and I often felt helpless and insecure. I started reading many books and acquiring a great deal of knowledge. Over time, I came to understand that my son was a very "normal" baby, but that society's expectations and perceptions often convey a completely different image of children and babies, which makes many parents feel insecure.
At the same time, I repeatedly noticed that the solutions and tips from the books often didn't work for us. Today I know why. Every child is different, and there simply isn't a one-size-fits-all solution.
When I came across the principles of attachment parenting, I realized that this was exactly the path I wanted to take with my children and my partner. A path without one-size-fits-all solutions, but one where individual solutions are found and each child is seen and valued. Through the relationship, every situation with the child can be resolved – in a completely individual way. Over the past few years, this has fostered a deep, heartfelt connection with my children, my partner, and myself, a connection that continues to grow and simply feels wonderful.

And I want to have exactly this kind of relationship and connection in my professional environment as well. That's why I completed my training as a Babysteps course instructor in 2019.
But that's not all. I am constantly learning and developing my skills.

I also offer individual consultations and exchange groups (online & offline) for mothers with children over 1 year old.

My coaching is for all mothers who long for a more relaxed family life with more ease, joy, and energy. For those who feel stuck in a hamster wheel, just going through the motions. For those who often feel stressed and drained. For those who repeatedly find themselves in the same conflict situations and don't know how to break free. For mothers who want to fully enjoy motherhood again.

I conduct my consultations, workshops and coaching sessions both on-site and online.
