I! Want! But! Don't!

As soon as our children outgrow the baby phase, we observe entirely new behaviors. The sweet, cuddly little baby has become a toddler, with their own ideas, wishes, and perceptions. This often harbors a lot of potential for conflict.

""Oh, leave her alone. She's just being defiant!" / "If you let him get away with this now, he'll walk all over you." / "Top rule: be consistent!""

Honestly? Who hasn't heard one or two of these phrases before? And sometimes we ask ourselves: "Is the other person right? Do I really always have to be so firm?" >> "If you don't come now, I'm leaving without you!" >> Really? Are we going to leave without our child then?
And how do we feel about that?

Wouldn't it be so much better if we didn't have these power struggles in the first place? If we experienced much more cooperation in our daily lives—and our children did too? But how can that be achieved? How can we rediscover ease in our everyday interactions with our children?

Nonviolent Communication (NVC), as developed by Marshall Rosenberg, can help us here. NVC is not a method, but rather an attitude, a mindset towards ourselves and our fellow human beings – including our children.

In my course you will learn the 4 steps of Nonviolent Communication (NVC).

  • observation

  • feelings

  • Need

  • Please

It also covers topics such as inner attitude, empathy, and dealing with stress: where it comes from, what the causes are, and how we can deal with it.

The course spans seven units, giving us enough time to internalize what we have learned and integrate it into our daily lives.

I look forward to you!
Yours, Caro

This is me – Carolin Fest, married, mother of three wonderful children and living in the beautiful Isny im Allgäu.

I advise parents on all aspects of baby care, such as natural infant care (elimination communication/elimination communication), baby sleep, breastfeeding, babywearing, weaning, and much more. Furthermore, I support parents of toddlers in weaning them from diapers in a needs-based and pressure-free manner, and I also help them find valuable strategies for a more relaxed everyday life with toddlers.
