Not every baby is exclusively breastfed, and not every breastfeeding relationship is straightforward. Some families consciously choose bottle-feeding, others supplement with formula for a while. And still others suddenly face questions like:
Why is my baby having problems with gas, stomach pain, and bowel movements?
Is this still normal? Is it due to the diet?
Or are we doing something wrong?
This is precisely where my work comes in. As a certified specialist for formula-fed infants (FeS®), I support families whose babies are fed entirely or partially with infant formula – expertly, independently and impartially.
Formula feeding, medically termed infant formula, follow-on formula, and special formula, is an important and necessary food when breastfeeding is not possible or not fully possible. At the same time, it is not identical to breast milk and places different demands on the infant's body, particularly regarding digestion, the immature intestines of an infant, and metabolism.
You've come to the right place if one or more of these questions are on your mind:
Which formula is truly right for my child?
How can I recognize hunger, satiety, and genuine needs?
How much bottle feeding does my child need and at what frequency?
My child no longer seems full or satisfied, what could be the reason?
The formula doesn't seem to be well tolerated; what can we change?
Is a change in diet advisable, and if so, which one?
Which bottle and teat best support my child?
How do I feed my child mindfully and in a way that meets their needs using a bottle?
My child has digestive or elimination problems, what can we do?
How can breastfeeding-friendly supplemental feeding or mixed feeding be successfully implemented in everyday life?
How long will my child need formula and what happens after that?
As part of my work as a FeS® specialist, I generally work in a way that promotes breastfeeding.
My knowledge as a breastfeeding mentor is actively incorporated into every consultation.
