Understanding Children Better

Wehrberger Str. 59, 31785 Hameln, Germany

It is so worthwhile to better understand our children and their development, and it is THE opportunity for parents to experience a whole new family life.

In the "Understanding Children Better" course, parents learn essential fundamentals of child development and, after just a few sessions, can develop entirely new solutions and approaches for their own family life. Module 1 of the course is aimed at parents with children from 1 year old up to preschool age. It focuses on understanding children's behavior as valuable signals and interpreting the underlying feelings. Following the motto "You are okay just the way you are," the course explores understanding needs, uncovering parenting misconceptions, questioning old beliefs, and finding new answers and solutions on an emotional level. Important new and current findings and information from developmental psychology, infant and attachment research, and evolutionary and neurobiology are presented. The course also provides time and space for questions and mutual exchange, thus empowering parents on their constructive path to attachment- and relationship-oriented parenting.

The content of the course Module 1: Relationship instead of Education – what exactly does that mean?

What role do attachment and relationships play in my child's development? What values and goals did my parents raise me with, and what do I have for my own children today? The autonomy phase: Why is the term "terrible twos" inaccurate? What is the significance of this phase anyway? What emotional development is my child undergoing during this time? What can I do when my child has a tantrum? How do I deal with my child's "no"? Punishments & consequences – new approaches: Should I punish my child, and what consequences are appropriate?

What messages does my child receive through punishments or consequences? How can I set boundaries? How can I resolve conflicts respectfully? What is the difference between "reinforcement" and "praise"? Everyday life with toddlers: How can I make everyday life less stressful? Which rituals suit us? How can we, as a family, start the day well? How do I structure mealtimes? How can I wean my child off a pacifier? How will my child get rid of diapers? How should I handle sibling conflicts? What do I do if my child hits? Does my child have to hold hands? What do I do if my child doesn't listen? My child doesn't want to sleep, what should I do? Kindergarten life: What is important during the settling-in period? How can I make separation easier for my child? Does my child need to be able to share? My child is anxious – how can I support them? What does my child need from me for their development? How can I protect myself from societal expectations?

The rooms are located in the practice.

Hey, I'm Anja, mother of 2 energetic little rascals.
As a specialist nurse for anesthesia and intensive care, I work part-time in an intensive care unit. At the same time, however, I have become self-employed, focusing on my passions, and support families as a trained attachment- and relationship-oriented parent and family counselor.
My main focus is on the topic of ADHD, as both my daughter and I are affected by it.
For me, it is very important that we work together to find individual solutions for you, and not rely on outdated, traditional parenting methods.
Because every family dynamic is different and unique, just like our children, and it's always worth going out for them.
